The Annual membership fee is only £20.00.The organisation was originally set up in the mid 1990’s to represent private residential Landlords in the Telford and Wrekin area of Shropshire. The aim was to uphold the interests of Independent Landlords and tenants. Members range from beginners with just one property to Multi-Million pound portfolio holders with many years experience and now includes Private Landlords from many different areas of the country, although in the main, they mostly have some form of local property interest.

Please don't forget to check out our new Facebook Group and Twitterand Linkedin Group as well

It is essential, by the very nature of their independence, that this sector should have available to them, the support and advice offered by the collective power and backing of an organisation. such as this which can represent their interest to Councils, Government and other relevant bodies.  Also using this collective power to bargain for better prices, cut price deals, better insurance cover and so on.  By keeping private landlords abreast of all the latest legislation and future trends it is hoped they may not only profit financially but by compliance and preparation may also safeguard their futures and the future of their tenants.

The Association hosts four meeting annually, one of which is the AGM. They invite speakers from all types of different backgrounds and interests to address the members. Many of these speakers in the past have included, published Authors, Editors and Journalist, specialist financial advisors, representatives from local authorities and Government departments, the police, fire service, environmentalists, Housing Benefits, members of National Landlords organisations and so on.Once a year we host a purely networking "open" meeting, where members share their concerns, advice and solutions specific to this area.

There are also four Newsletters produced every year under the banner of “Property Matters”.

These include recommendations for local services and suppliers. Articles of current and general interest, letters and opinions from members, some light hearted stories and jokes under the heading “Laugh it off” (highly recommended in this current climate). In each issue there is a profile of a local Landlord in “My life in Property” which gives an insight into how other Landlords from varying back grounds operate and cope in the business of property letting. Many members have said how they benefit from sharing ideas with other people in a similar situation, you cannot always do this when operating on a nationwide basis as many of the parameters are so far removed it almost seems like a different business. The newsletter is finally completed with members adverts for properties abroad, a classified index of tradesmen and some useful telephone numbers. This is mailed or sent electronically to members on a quarterly basis just prior to the meetings.

Since 2003 an important part of the Associations calendar has been the Annual Dinner, which is usually held in May. (See the review on the 'dates for your Diary' page) This is provided FREE FOR MEMBERS and subsidised for their guests. It includes a three course meal with a choice of menu, wine, entertainment, and free draw with prizes (In 2017 the total prize value was around £500). This function has proved to be one of the biggest assets to the members in terms of integrating with fellow members and exchanging ideas and opinions. The fifteenth Annual Dinner will be on Friday May 11th 2018 and, as usual promises to be a huge success, so make a note in your Diary NOW

Members may have access to discounts on Insurance through the ALAN BOSWELL Landlords Insurance Scheme, plus numerous other special deals from advertisers at different times. Things such as EPC’s, carpet cleaning, boiler servicing and so on. One of the biggest benefits is that members get all this for an annual outlay of just £20, now that’s value.
